Flagpole & Windsock
We got our Conex Container In and it was time for our Flagpole & Windsock Pole to be installed. In photo Rudy, Freddie and Eric. That is some hard steel. We drilled and tapped it. June 2020.
Flagpole is Up
We got the Flagpole and Windsock up and you can see our early beginnings. Just dirt where we now have used soccer turf and no shade. July 2020
First Traniee
With our new location still under construction and off the dirt, Mark Sumner begins training Nik Clauditz. Nik's Dad and younger brother also in photo.
Runway Time
In July 2020 we began to put down the donated seconds material for our First Runway. I say first because about a year later a windstorm tore it all up and blew it way out into the landfill. Viritually nothing left. We cleaned up the damage and relaid the runway.
Used Turf
In July of 2021 we purchased out of Charolette, NC. some used Soccer Turf for our pilot staging area. Bill Smith in photo using his truck to pick up the material. This stuff was full of inlay and heavy!
Unloading Time
This stuff was so heavy it was almost impossible to roll off the trailer. We had to get a Skid Steer to move the material around and then it bent the steel forks on the skid steer. July 2021
It's Down
July 2021 after much extreme labourious work it's down. We trim the edges later to make it nice and neat. You notice our flight stands. Linda Davenport paid for the material and Freddie Davenport built them for the club. Free to the club.
Trimmed Up
We got the used soccer turf trimmed up and Rudy sitting ready to enjoy a flight, You can see our Pilot Safety Stands donated by Bob Puzsik. July 2021
1st. runway
this photo was taken eleven months after it was first installed. We were plaqued with water problems and the seconds material was porous and didn't keep water from seeping through and under the material. this allowed gullys and small trenches to wash out the runway foundation underdeath the material. November 2020
Wind Storm
About a year after we put the runway down a massive wind storm hit and the wind got under the material and dispersed it across the landfill destroying our runway.

The Swamp
this swamp plaqued us continually with having to drain after every rain. When the first runway blew away in the wind storm we decided it was a good time to put in a drain pipe that runs under the the runway. 2022

Drain The Swamp
Bob Templeton helped lay the drain-pipe. We actually had AAA Landscaping dig the trench and set the correct pitch for the drainage.
Second Runway
Photo of our Second Runway after the windstorm. with the runway removed by nature we put in a drain-pipe to drain our swamp. Due to finances we put the donated material back down for the runway. The runway was so smooth with no resistance the planes wouldn't slow down and would roll off the end of therunway. And it didn't solve water seeping throught and under the fabric and destroying the foundation either.
Sports Turf Work
Photo shows the New Sports Turf Runway foundation, and french drains being installed.
Sports Turf Construction
We purchase some closeout but new Sports turf and had it put down professionally. The turf was not preforated to keep water from being able penetrate it and wash out our runway foundation.
Sports Turf Runway Foundation
Photo of our runway foundation and french drains almost finished for the installation of our New Sports Turf Runway. 2023
Sports Turf Rollout
We rolled out the sports turf and sandbagged it down and allowed it to acclimate. Each roll is 15ft. wide making us only have one seam down the middle. The professionals would do the stretching and glueing the seams.
